AMD Phenom X3 processor family performance

Memory bandwidth is certainly an area where the Athlon64 X2 processors excel and although the Phenom X4 processors do offer similar read performance, they are much slower in the write test. The loss of a core does appear to have a minor impact on the Phenom X3 when compared to the Phenom X4 processors.

The Phenom X3 processors do not look all that impressive in these synthetic EVEREST Ultimate CPU tests. In fact, the Phenom X4 processors do not look very impressive either, as the Phenom X4 9850 is slower than the Core 2 Quad Q6600 in both the CPU PhotoWorxx and FPU SinJulia tests.
The SinJulia test does favor multi-core processors and for that reason the Phenom X3 processors did compare quite well to the 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 processor in this test.
