While EVEREST favored the Phenom X4 9850 in its processor performance test, in PCmark05 the Core 2 processors receive the lead. The Core 2 Duo E8400 which is a dual core performs better than the Q6600 here, most likely due to the clock speed advantage.
Interestingly the Phenom processors scored considerably better in the graphics test despite both platforms using the same GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card.
